Ergonomics Program
An ergonomic evaluation includes the identification and quantification of existing work site conditions, evaluation of work site risk factors and recommendation of engineering and administrative tools to reduce the identified risk factors.
- KRS utilizes a nationally recognized authority on ergonomics and work injury claims prevention. The IMPACC system was developed by a group of therapists working in over 400 workplaces across the country since 1983.
- As medical professionals we consider workpalce design and ergonomics, however, more importantly we tackle the more powerful issues of work place politics and attitudes, which can greatly increase worker compensation claims and costs.
- Musuloskeletal cumulative trauma disorders account for over 60% of all injuries in the workplace. The UNUM insurance company reported a nearly 400% increase in disability claims for these types of disorders from 1993-1996.
- The average high-risk employer will spend $1 million per 500 workers per year for these disorders.
- Let Keystone Rehabilitation Systems decrease your workers compensation costs by up to 70% according to OSHA-200 records in the 12-24 month period following implementation of the program. Now that's a track record worth noting!!
- IMPACC program Outcomes: Food Manufacturer in PA: Before the Program: 944 lost workdays. After the program: 272 lost workdays. 71% decrease.
