General

What are your hours of operation?

 

Physiotherapy Associates' clinics have varied hours of operation depending on their location and individual service offerings.  Please locate a clinic closest to you via our Locations Page and contact the clinic directly for their hours of operation.

Outpatient Rehabilitation

Will my insurance pay for treatment?

Most insurance plans cover outpatient therapy.  Some plans require the patient to pay a co-payment for each visit.  Please contact your insurance carrier for specific coverage information.

Do I need to be referred by my doctor?

All treatment paid for by insurance carriers requires a physician referral.

What information do I need to bring with me to my first visit?

On your initial visit, please bring your physician referral, your insurance card, and any other appropriate billing information.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable clothing to physical therapy.  If you are coming for lower-extremity treatment (i.e. knee, hip, leg, etc.), shorts and sneakers will be needed.  If you have an upper extremity ailment (i.e. shoulder, elbow, etc.) please wear clothing that will expose the area to be treated.  Private rooms are available to change into and out of your treatment clothes.

How long is each visit?

Your visit with one of our physical therapists will vary from 30 to 60 minutes.

What should I expect during my initial visit?

After the initial evaluation of your ailment, the therapist will recommend a plan of care then render the appropriate treatment.

How many times a week and for how many weeks will I have to come?

Frequency and duration of treatment will be determined by your physician or after the initial evaluation by your therapist. The typical frequency is 2-3 times per week.

How will I handle my problem at home?

Your plan of care will include exercises to be performed independently at home.

Orthotics & Prosthetics

Will my insurance pay for treatment?

Most insurance plans cover orthotics & prosthetics.  Benefit plans vary; therefore please contact your insurance carrier for specific coverage information.  If your insurance carrier requires the patient to pay a co-pay, this payment is required at the time of service.

Do I need to be referred by my doctor?

What should I expect during my initial visit?

After an initial evaluation and a lot of questions about your lifestyle and personal preferences, we will recommend your appropriate orthosis and/or prosthesis treatment.

What is your warranty policy?

The warranty period for custom orthoses and prostheses is three months for workmanship and materials.  Normal adjustments will be made at the discretion of the practitioner at no charge for a three month period. 

Physiotherapy Associates cannot be responsible for physiological or anatomical changes or changes in patient’s medical condition.  There will be a separate charge for adjustments due to physiological or anatomical changes or changes in a patient’s medical condition.  Prescribed additions of componetry, straps, lifts, supplies, etc., will incur a charge.  There will be a separate charge for adjustments or repairs that are made as a result of abuse, or rough wear, such as may occur from sports, vocational, or unusual activities.
